Marsha Walker, RN, IBCLC, is a registered nurse and board certified lactation consultant. She has been assisting breastfeeding families in hospital, clinic, and home settings since 1976. She serves as president of Lactation Associates, a private practice that educates and consults to health care professionals. Marsha is the executive director of the National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy: Research, Education, and Legal Branch, as well as editor of its newsletter, Abreast of Our Times. She served as a vice president of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) from 1990 to 1994 and recently as president of ILCA. Marsha is an international speaker, and an author of numerous publications including ones on the hazards of infant formula use, hospital breastfeeding policies and protocols, and parent education.
